Social content is not just a shorter version of a main film. It needs a strong opening, clear context without a long setup, captions when useful and framing that works on mobile.
Start with the platform
Instagram Reels, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts and website embeds all reward different pacing and framing. Decide where the content will appear before filming.
Capture for vertical and horizontal
If the production needs both, the camera choices and composition should allow for both. This prevents important faces, products or text from being cut out later.
Plan multiple hooks
A package may need several openings: a clear statement, a strong visual moment, a question, a result or a before-and-after. Filming those options gives the edit more range.
Deliver finished files, not only footage
Useful delivery includes named exports, aspect ratios, captions where needed, thumbnails or stills and versions matched to each platform.

These projects show how vertical and short-form delivery can be planned from the shoot.
